The sensor is placed inline to the device and it measures the voltage induced by the fluid. This voltage is produced when the fluid flows through a pipe. The electrode circuit sends induced voltage produced by the sensor to the transmitter, which converts this into a measurable flow velocity. The volumetric liquid flow rate is calculated using this flow velocity in the pipe area.
